Many sports lovers have been eagerly awaiting the opening of Michigan’s first Topgolf. A date has finally been announced.
Drivers could see the construction progress of the huge facility off of I-75 next to Great Lakes Crossing in Auburn Hills. It’s just been announced the entertainment complex is set to open its doors on Friday, December 7, 2018 at 9:00 a.m. The three-level, 65,000-square-foot venue, located at 500 Great Lakes Crossing Blvd., is the company’s 51st location worldwide.
“We are excited to open here during the holiday season,” said Topgolf Detroit-Auburn Hills Director of Operations Brian Birckbichler. “Topgolf is about bringing people together and creating great times for all, and we want our venue to be a second home for everyone in this community.”
There are a total of 102 climate controlled hitting bays, each with couches, HDTV’s and complete food and beverage service. The venue even has clubs to borrow for men, women, kids and even lefties.
Each bay is ideal for up to six people. The cost per bay is as follows: 9am – Noon: $25 per hour, Noon – 5pm – $35 per hour, 5pm – close: $45 per hour. You can hit on the driving range or play one of the nine different games and play against your friends.
There are numerous targets on the range of different colors. Once you select your game, walk onto the hitting surface and wave your club over the ball dispenser and your golf ball is released. A sensor tracks where it’s hit and keeps track of your score. The entire hitting length is 215 yards.
“This is about golfers and non-golfers,” added Birckbichler. “More than half of our guests have never swung a club before. We do everything from date nights to major corporate events. You can come up on your lunch break. We’ve got programs for kids as young as 2 and everything in between.”
