Ohio State received its first Christmas present by way of four-star wide receiver Gee Scott Jr. of Eastside Catholic High School (Wash.).
Scott — who ranks 70th in the country and 15th among wide receivers — is the sixth member of Ohio State’s 2020 recruiting class. He is the first 2020 commitment since Ryan Day was announced as the successor to Urban Meyer as head coach. Scott announced his commitment via Twitter in a dramatic video. He held offers from 18 schools including Wisconsin, Florida and Florida State. He committed to the Buckeyes without taking any official visits.
Ohio State’s class now features two wide receivers — including four-star Jaxon Smith-Njigba of Rockwell (Texas) High School who committed in November — in a class with six players all on the offensive side of the ball. The class is headlined by five-star offensive tackle Paris Johnson Jr. of Cincinnati St. Xavier High School.
