Police are searching for the suspects in two robberies that occurred in the same area near the Hilltop Sunday and Monday,
According to police, the first robbery occurred shortly before 10 p.m. Sunday at the Country Food Store in the 3800 block of Sullivant Avenue.
Police say a suspect entered the store, pointed a gun at the clerk and demanded money. He fired a shot at the clerk and demanded more after the clerk handed him a small amount of cash. The suspect left with an undisclosed amount of money and got into a dark-colored vehicle waiting on the west side of the building.
The suspect is described as a black male, 5’8″-5’11” tall, wearing a North Face black, white and green camouflage jacket with a hoodie, black and white mask, blue jeans and black shoes. He was carrying a black handgun and brown Kroger bag.
At a store about five minutes away on Monday, a suspect entered the Briggs Mart in the 2700 block of Briggs Road at around 8:30 p.m.
Police say the suspect handed the clerk a grocery bag and demanded it to be filled with money. The suspect immediately fired a shot, ordered the clerk to move faster and fired off more shots into the cigarette display. After receiving the bag of money, the suspect left after firing several more rounds. He was seen fleeing toward Bronwyn Avenue.
The suspect was described as a black male, 16-20 years old, thinner build, approximately 5’6″, wearing a black hoodie, dark blue sweats, white gloves, a red mask and black tennis shoes.
