A husband and wife were found dead Thursday of a suspected overdose after one of their children called 911, saying they would not wake up.
The Montgomery County Coroner identified the couple as Brian J. Halye, 36, and Courtney Halye, 34, WDTN Channel 2 reports.
The couple has four children, three girls and a boy ages 9 to 13. The couple each had two children from previous relationships, reports say.
The children found their parents in a bedroom in the home Thursday morning, with two of them calling 911, according to the Dayton Daily News.
The Daily News reports Brian Hayle had been an active pilot for the past nine years for Spirit Airlines and was the captain of a passenger jet last Friday.
“Our hearts go out to the family, friends and colleagues of Captain Hayle,” Paul Berry, a company spokesman, tells whio.com.
Centerville police said drug paraphernalia was found in the home. The coroner said there are indications that fentanyl products were involved, according to reports.
“We’ve been talking about this for how long now?” Ken Betz, director of the Montgomery County Coroner’s Office, tells the Daily News. “Here I go again … year-to-date accidental drug overdoses exceeded 160 already this year.”
The children have been placed in the care of family members, WDTN reports.
