One day closer to Christmas, and the forecast is beginning to favor a chance of snow Christmas Eve night into Christmas Day, with a relatively warm, rainy weekend before.
Friday will kick off the weekend on a mild, wet note. Highs will reach the upper 40s with very cloudy skies in between periods of rain. That rain could last into Saturday morning and afternoon, meaning temperatures are again on the warm side.
The real action begins Christmas Even with the chance of snow. A very quick cooldown to below freezing is expected, and with models predicting a low-pressure area in the region, that means some flurries could spark up. This is an extended forecast however, so we can expect things to change as we get closer to the holiday – this is just a look at what the forecast favors right now. The chance currently lasts into Christmas Day, but it’s much too early to look at accumulations and exact locations of the snow just yet, at least accurately.
Temperatures Christmas Day will drop again, ranging from the teens to mid 20s, although that’s nothing compared to how it’ll feel Tuesday with temperatures in the teens all day. If you’re driving back that day from seeing family, while you’ll obviously want to bundle up, roads should be nice and dry.
